Work Slang

Warning - probably too much information regarding my thought processes...I was laying in bed thinking about FLOR, I think I'm obsessing a little...I was thinking how I would like to spend more time using their design tool (http://www.florcatalog.com/service/flor/configurator.html), then I was thinking what a TIMESINK that is. SO then I was thinking about the word TIMESINK. When did I start using this word?! Then I was thinking about all the work slang that we use on a regular basis and how funny it is.
My personal favorite at Intel is RATHOLE. That is when a meeting veers dangerously off course and is in peril of getting no where fast (btw this happens all the time but it is clearly called out that we are "rathole-ing".
I also like BANDWIDTH from Accenture, that is how much work you can force on a person before they will turn into a quivering bowl of jell-o.
At ADEQ, it wasn't so much a word I enjoyed, it was the whole creative process of trying to make it sound like we had accomplished a lot when really we had done not much of anything.
This makes me think of the time at Pizza Peak when this older lady walked in saying her friend had raved about the spaghetti sauce we made and could she have a taste? The owner, Larry, said "Absolutely!" and got a spoon and gave her a taste and she said "Wonderful"...I was like "Larry!" because the sauce we use was Prego, from a jar..ha ha!
OK this is a pretty random post and no cute pics either but what can I say, it's 10pm and for me that is late. :o)
